Expertly designed the Home blends traditional brickwork with contemporary features and design. Internally, the attention to detail is impressive. The high specification and décor of the home have been carefully considered by an interior designer, creating stylish yet comfortable and practical spaces with infection control built into the environment. Expertly designed, the home meets all current Care Inspectorate requirements and provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care.
Arranged over three floors, Bridge of Weir Care Home is arranged in small scale living areas where small groups of spacious bedrooms, each with ensuite wet rooms are arranged around lounge, dining, and quiet lounge facilities. This delivers a comfortable, homely, and welcoming environment while also providing a range of other facilities for residents to enjoy. The upper floors enjoy beautiful views from the balconies over the River Gryffe, while the residents on the lower floor enjoy small private patio areas accessed from each individual bedroom.
Entry to the home is through an open and welcoming piano bar reception where residents and visitors can choose to relax together or alone. A huge welcome to Morar Living’s Bridge of Weir Care Home, a beautiful and friendly residential and nursing home. My name is Victor Dewson and I am the registered manager of this beautiful 74 bed care home. I am an enthusiastic and successful healthcare professional with extensive management experience. I have worked in a variety of specialities since qualifying as a nurse over 33 years ago. Since 2000 I have focused on the provision of care of the elderly and for the last 11 years, I was the Regional Operations Manager for a large national provider with responsibility for ten care homes throughout Scotland.
At Bridge of Weir we provide residential, nursing, dementia, and palliative care. Our ethos is one of optimism, we firmly believe that enablement contributes to a fulfilled and meaningful life. We are changing the way in which elderly care is delivered by ensuring that everyone who comes to live here feels empowered and we ensure that everyone has experiences and outcomes that are exciting, meaningful, and aspirational. Our philosophy is very clear, it is about ‘doing with’ rather than ‘doing for’ each individual to enhance their autonomy and independence.
The provision of care is delivered using a small-scale living approach. Each area of 14 beds has a range of communal areas, private dining rooms and kitchens to encourage independence. We advocate that the community will be empowered to take acceptable risks to lead fulfilled lives. We remove the barriers of ageism and perceived ideas of capabilities and allow all to flourish and be themselves.
